Teach English in Thailand or China
Salary and Benefits
Program participants will experience a reasonably high standard
of living. Host institutions provide comfortable accommodations
and the cost of living in both Thailand and China is very low.
The salary may not seem particularly high in Western terms,
but it is generous in local terms - about twice what local
teachers earn - and wages can easily finance independent travel
after the program.
- Salary: a minimum of 3,000 RMB/11,000
Baht per month
- Accommodations: vary from apartments to
faculty housing, but usually include bedroom, bath, sitting
room, cooking facilities and most utilities
- Meals: sometimes included, but not standard
- Flight: if you successfully complete a
10 month placement your host institution will pay the return
portion of your airfare *
- Health and travel insurance: included
in program fee

Thailand: We guarantee the return flight reimbursement for
10 month participants who start the program in May only. In some cases it
can be arranged for those who start on October, but it depends on the school
and their relationship with the participant. |
** |
Most teachers devote between 35 and 40 hours per week, including class
planning, presentations, faculty meetings, and extra-curricular activities. |
*** |
The academic year in each country begins during these months. 10-month
contracts are more plentiful, and preferred by schools at the beginning of
the school year. |
