How to Apply

Application Deadline:Late May 2011

Completed applications must be submitted by the 28th May 2010 to Student Placement Australia New Zealand. Late applications will be considered on a case by case basis and attract a late application fee of $150.

Application Process

Step 1: Complete and return the documents listed below to us with your A$250 deposit.

	Program Application Form
	CV (resume) indicating academic and extra-curricular activities (athletics, arts, or others).
	High school / university academic transcripts (original or certified copy)
	Two letters of recommendation from your high school or college
	Sporting references from coaches
	Personal essay including the following items (maximum of two pages): Why do I feel I deserve a Scholarship? What are my objectives in the USA? What are my plans after completing my education?

Please save a copy of your complete application onto a CD to take to the Sports Showcase with you. Coaches attending the showcase may ask you for a copy of your application on CD to review whilst at the showcase.

Step 2: We will undertake a preliminary review of your application and arrange a phone interview with you to:

	Find out more about you as a person and to understand your interests and aspirations.
	Identify your sporting interests, experience and abilities
	Review your academic status and major(s) of interest
	Explain the program in detail
	Give you (and your parents) a chance to ask questions

Step 3: If successful, we will write to you confirming your acceptance on to the program and enclose our invoice for the balance of the program fee.

Step 4: Once accepted on to the program we will stay in regular contact in the lead up to your departure.

Step 5: Attend the International Showcase in Florida, USA in July 2010.

Step 6: Within three days of the end of the Showcase each candidate receives a written report via e-mail detailing the scholarships offered.
